"Increasing demand for fresh pomegranates, juice and concentrate"

Tholen - The past couple of years, more and more consumers have become aware of the health benefits of pomegranates. This caused a strong increase in the demand for fresh pomegranates. Not only the demand for fresh pomegranates but also the demand for juice and concentrate made of pomegranates have been increased.

The pomegranate concentrate inherently is concentrated pomegranate juice. The concentrate could be very interesting for juice manufacturers. "In the majority of the countries the concentrate is in great demand than juice. Under the characteristic, pomegranate concentrate is much better, than juice. It is caused, that during the preparation of the concentrate the principle of deep vacuum is used, which allows to keep all vitamins and useful substances," Hasan Hasanov of Pomegranate Azerbaijan says.

The pomegranate concentrate of Pomegranate Azerbaijan is prepared from pomegranates collected in non-polluting areas of Azerbaijan. "These pomegranates won world acclaim due to taste and medical properties. On manufacturing of our concentrate we use only mature fresh fruits, healthy and corresponding to requirements of working standards and specifications," Hasan Hasanov says.

The history of the pomegranate goes way back. "In old Indian manuscripts there are data on treatment by its concentrate of patients by a hemophilia (leukemia). Pomegranate concentrate possesses anti-scorbutic properties, raises appetite, reduces thirst, adjusts activity of a stomach, renders on an organism, anesthetizing, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory action, stimulates to urine and bile secretion," Hasan Hasanov says.

Pomegranates are high in polyphenols. "In several human clinical trials, the concentrate of the pomegranate has been found effective in reducing several heart risk factors, including LDL oxidation, macrophage oxidative status, and foam cell formation, all of which are steps in atherosclerosis and heart disease. Pomegranate concentrate apply-at hypertonic illness, a tachycardia, sinus arhitmia, urine and bile illnesses, a fever, a malaria as freshening and a febrifuge, stimulations against cough and a headache," Hasan Hasanov says.

"One of the facts confirming the large power of pomegranates being able to reduce significantly radiation process in organisms,” Hasan Hasanov continues", is the accident in the Chernobyl nuclear station where people had been given pomegranate concentrate. Also, people who are in nuclear submarines are given minimum 200 gram of pomegranate concentrate to reduce the level of radiation in their organisms.
Pomegranate Azerbaijan is interested in expanding its markets into the United States and Europe.
